形態特徵

• Perennial; culms densely tufted, 5-30 cm by 0.5-1 mm, obtusely 3- or 4-angled, smooth.
• Leaves reduced to basal 2-3 bladeless sheaths, pale green or light brown; ligule absent. Inflorescence a single terminal spikelet, upright or oblique, ebracteate.
• Spikelet ovoid to lanceolate-ovate, 6-12 mm by 2-3.5 mm, acute, terete, many-flowered.
• Glumes 5-15 per spikelet, spiral, ovate, 3-4.5 mm by 2-4 mm, obtuse or mucronulate, chartaceous, yellowish brown or brown; keel green, 3-7-nerved. Stamens 2-3; anthers 0.7-1.1 mm long. Style flat, not dilated at base, ciliate above; stigmas 2. Achene ovate to obovate-elliptic, 1.1-1.7 mm by 1.1-1.7 mm, cream to brown, biconvex, coarsely transversely rugulosed, obscurely reticulate.

分布

• 台灣 : open wet or muddy places.
• 世界 : India, Sri Lanka, Malesia, northern Australia, southern China and the Ryukyus.
